Glory to God! Thank you Father, for blessing my life today!
Let each of us remember to praise god and give thanks for the blessings we receive from Him throughout each day. Jesus was pleased with the Samaritan (considered a stranger to Israel) for his praise and thankfulness as detailed in chapter 17 of Luke.
It's easy to fall into the rut of forgetting to be thankful. Don't let this happen to you..
Back when our Savior walked near Samaria, the children of Israel had allowed their focus to shift away from praise and worship to the importance of priestly duties and rules. They were too busy for praise, with all of their duties and too proud for drawing nearer to God. They were members of a special group and considered themselves to be "the chosen ones" and "God's people". It's almost impossible to remain humble and close to God, while considering yourself better than others. God loves each of His children equally, in other words, He is no respecter of persons.
Luke 17:11 https://scriptures.info/scriptures/nt/luke/10
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.Jesus was known to hang out with the "less than desirable", the sinners and strangers to Israel. While Jesus ministered and taught, He elevated not Himself, but His Father, that sent Him from the High Heavens.
